Cleaning suggestion before the holidays

Before having your friends and family over for the holidays, it’s time to clean, and that is no easy task, before hosting any parties or family dinners for the season, make sure your home is clean to welcome in guest. In this article, we will provide some advice so that the cleaning process isn't so difficult and you can spend more time enjoying the company of your loved ones, rather than cleaning.

The first thing you should focus on is the kitchen, this is the area where you will spend most of your time preparing your meals for your friends and family, where you should focus on before and after the holidays is the fridge. Cleaning the fridge before the holidays can ensure that you have enough space for all the food and leftover you will accumulate during this time, and after the days have passed you will need to clean it once again to get rid of all the food that you won't be needing. It is not easy but with a sponge, rag, and a cleaning solution you can pretty much get the job done, when clearing out your fridge you get an idea of how much room you will have after throwing away all unnecessary items, once the fridge is empty you can start cleaning and re-organizing your fridge, and after the season repeat the same process for a once again clean refrigerator.

Another area that you will need to focus on is the bathroom, you don't want your guest to see it dirty when they come to visit, that can be a bit embarrassing especially if it’s been a while since you last gave it a thorough cleaning. When cleaning your bathrooms spray your cleaning solution over the areas that need more work, usually being the bathtub, the walls inside the shower and the toilet, leaving the solution for at least 30 minutes can make the task a bit easier, but if you want better results leaving it on for more time is always helpful, after leaving the solution on, with a brush scrub the areas that need the most work, having left the solution on will help in to reduce the amount of force and time that you will spend cleaning, and with a sponge, you should be able to clean the other areas that don't need as much of attention.

Lastly, is the living room. The living room is where you, your friend and family will spend a lot of time together, and it's where the Christmas tree is usually located, with all the decoration and ornament set all around. When planning the decoration of your home, it's a good idea to clean beforehand, start by dusting higher areas and working your way down, if you start from the bottom and work your way up there is a chance that while you are cleaning dust and debris might fall and you will have to clean once more the bottom area that you previously cleaned. After dusting you can clear the area and remove items that will get replaced with more festive ones and get a better perspective of what and where everything will go. Don't forget about your windows, if you set up holiday ornaments on your front yard you might want your guests to have a clear view of them, all you need to clean your windows is some paper towels or a cloth and some window cleaner. Finally, vacuum carpets, floors, and baseboards after all the dusting you did at the start, some of the dust may have fallen. You don't what that dust flying around when guest star walking by and star sneezing all over the place. We also have a suggestion for our furry friends that like sitting on your couch or sofa rater that on the floor, covering their favorite spot with washable throws that can be easily removed will prevent smells and fur sticking to your furniture and you won't have to worry about cleaning afterward.
